Science writing is not my forte – it’s okay but I can be squeamish about body fluids and such what. Mary Roach, author of Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers enjoys that sort of thing and has a rather bizarre sense of humor (imo!) . I think the first half were selected by her.
That said, the articles themselves were, for the most part, fascinating. There are several noted authors included, Jonathan Franzen, Stephen Hawking, Ian Frazier, and 5 women authors. I read this over a period of several weeks so as not to get inundated and that seemed to work well. I think I enjoyed the stories about space and physics the most but some of the nature stories were quite compelling.
