Capetown detective Benny Griessel has some problems,  he drinks and womanizes too much and his wife has tossed him out.   Also,  a very young, female tourist from the US has been killed gangland style,   and to top that off,  the husband of a has-been singer is also found dead.  The tourist’s friend is on the run,  the singer is drunk – as usual.  Meanwhile,  racism tries to rear its ugly head with Benny being assigned to mentor a  new black officer.

This is a fast-moving and suspenseful novel from a relative newcomer to the field.  Translated from Afrikaans.
