Summer 2015 Challenge –

Summer 2015 Challenge –
Sponsored by  Cathy at 746 Books

Challenge:  To read 20 books of your choice this summer.

Also:   I’ll likely read about 45 or 50 between June 1 and Sept 1 at 15 per month,  but I really want to include these 16 and I’ll add 4 or a few more later:  –  The list includes one of the two books I’m currently reading but nowhere near finished (less than 1/2 way).  If it’s got a link it means I’ve either got a good start on it or actually finished.

Results of Challenge:     By Sept 4 I’d finished all but 1 of the books I’d chosen but I’d only written down 16.  Yes, I read more than 4 more including several on the new Man Booker Long List.  (That was a major challenge – to read all the Booker Long Listers available before the short list was released –  I did it – 2 of the 13 books were not available here in time so I read 11 books for that.)

Totals –  June 13 books,  July 9  books and  August 16 books which totals 38 boos –  way fewer than the 45 – 60 I’d challenged myself to.  (I was in North Dakota the entire month of July – that accounts for a huge part of that low number.)

I may be the guilty party for hooking you on this Challenge, but it’s Cathy at 76 Books who is actually hosting it. She also did it last year.

  2. This is such a great list! I read Esme Lennox last summer and just loved it. Thanks so much for joining in!

  4. I just discovered Maggie O’Farrell this March when I read The Hand That First Held Mine. I promptly went out to get some more of her books. Esme Lennox is one of them, so I’m looking forward to hear how you like it. Have fun reading!

My copy of Isaac’s Storm arrived earlier this week!
