Personal stuff: I live in Central California where I retired from teaching Kindergarten) in 2011. My BA was in history/political science – then grad work in Public Administration and later employment in city planning and social services until I got fed up and got the teaching credential I’d always wanted. I thought I wanted 5th grade so I could teach all subjects and then ended up with the babies!  Lo and behold, loved it – 25 years total.

I started putting my reading history online many years ago (’97?) back at Geocities just to keep track of what I read – I’d never been able to keep up a log or journal like that in f2f-land. And it worked!  But  I messed up and it crashed and that was the end of the first reading blog.   Over the years I’ve had 2 other sites with a bit of time between the first two blogs. This one has been going for since 2010 or so  – I gradually moved some of my old but better posts and entries over when iWeb was abandoned by Apple.

I read a lot and I have a lot of reviews here. They include paper and ebook texts,  audio books and both fiction and non-fiction. I read about 2 or 3 books a week – 120 to 150 or more books a year.

A few years ago I found that a page called “TBR” (“Up Next”) was helpful to schedule my reading- especially considering the too many reading groups I continue to belong to.   🙂

Anyway –  that’s it – just Becky blogging her books.

Becky, this is Alex (Ann) from Thinking in Fragments. A number of us who are taking the Historical Fictions course have come together to form a small discussion group based around a wiki site rather than trying to navigate the Coursera forums of 15000 people. We’ve been operating for about a week now and it’s working very well. It’s a private site, very much by invitation only, but if you would like to join us you would be more than welcome. Should you decide this might be for you drop, me an email at ann163125 at mac dot com and I’ll pass your email address along to the site co-ordinator who will send you the necessary invite.

  4. Why would a casual person dropping by be interested in what you have to say? Well, this stroller-in-the-blogosphere perked up when I saw you were a kindergarten teacher and a reader. You will see why if you visit my website. The protagonist of my novel, Colleen Gallagher, is a kindergarten teacher. You might like the book. 🙂
